The greatest Sri Lankan wrier of the last century was dorn in koggala in 1890.The house in which hc w3as dorn has deen renovated and forms a part of the museum. The author s personal be longings and original fur nature have been well preserved and carefully arranged in the rooms. The visitor gets the impression that the author has just stepped out for a stroll along the koggala beach. In the gallery Martin Wickramasinghe’s life and  times are presented theough photographs, paintings, sketches, souvenirs and awards he had received. Copiesof published works and hand written manuscripts are also found here. All these help to create an image of the man and the writer and by-gone times.
